members.aol.com/adnascar/driving.html This make the A470 look like a motorway. just over 100 miles of twists and turns, with jaw dropping views at every corner. Shame that the guest areas were not open yet - out of season. So I hit reserve with 25 miles to go. No idea what the reserve is, so I was freewheeling on the down bits. Got upto 50mph at one point, in neutral - not bad in an area where there is a blanket 35mph limit. Law loads of white tailed deer and had a beaver scurrying along on the road beside me. Lots of raccoons roadkill, but no live ones. Might have to go back again next weekend... RMJ

Lucky man, I've read about the skyline drive before and wished that maybe. I might yet. I used to have a link to a site that listed and rated America's top roads and the skyline was highly rated. I didn't transfer the site when we got a new computer.

Now I have to find out where the "Dragon's Tail" road is. I have read about it, but forgot to keep hold of the mag. RMJ

The A470 is one big carpark at rush hour! south in mornings and north in evenings especially around the Caerphilly/ Taff wells area and with that road widening on the M4 I give up! lol
