yamaha diversion 600 1995 n model hi firstly for some reason my bike will not start on the button ,kill switch to run press starter nothing have tried fuses battery power etc but my head is telling me its the starter relay have put a spanner accross relay terminals briefly bike turns over but how do i no its not from the switch end kill switch works power checked but dont no about actual thumb starter switch any advice would be help full justpurple

try the ignition connection to the starter relay, they corrode and its a common failure, then make sure the sidestand switch is working

Time to get out the wiring diagram and multimeter. Could be: sidestand switch, clutch switch, kill switch, starter button, starter solenoid, or any of the wiring in between.
I had a similar issue on the fireblade, first it was the start button which had dirt in it, then it would run with the stand up. Finally turned out to be a point in the loom where three wires came together which had simply corroded and split. Methodical, and slow, is the way.
If it's a fault with the kill switch you may find that you can't even push start it or it won't start by bridging the starter, as the kill switch may effectively be activated.
