My question is would the front brake pads for a 98 Divi 600 twin caliper fit a 95 single front caliper?

Had a look at 'patterparts.net' for you.
PPT 230169 Brake Pads Front (1 Pair) Yamaha XJ 600 N/S Diversion 93-97 £11.95 Add PPT 230189 Brake Pads Front (1 Pair) Yamaha XJ 600 N/S Diversion 98-02 £11.95 Add
Looks like they are different.
If you do buy replacement front pads, I found the sintered pads WAY better, and with the addition of a braided line as well, excellent.
HTH,
Ady

going for step by step approach Change the pads first then fit braided hoses
Protects against any foul ups

Don't try putting on FZR calipers.....they don't fit. The front rim is too narrow, and the caliper fouls on the spokes. Tried it last week on Helga - should have tried spinning the wheel *before* I bled the brakes Ho hum.

Sintered pads work better, but at the expense of faster disc wear. If you really need better brakes or do low mileage it wont matter. If you cover lots of miles the extra expense could be a surprise.
Personally I find the organic pads are good enough to lock the front wheel at 30. What more do I need?
