Haynes V Clymer Manual - Fazer 1000

Hi All,

This is my first post on the new site, posted a few questions on the old site and was always impressed with the response and the quality of the answers.

As the first MOT is due on my Fazer 1000 next month I have decided to invest in a maintenance manual. My question is therefore very simple, should I go for the Haynes or the Clymer manual? The Clymer manual has 429 pages as opposed to the Haynes at 264 (although I know quantity is not a measure of quality, it does seem better VFM.)

Anyone got experience of both manuals and can advise???

Clymer manuals are brill, but why would you want one for a Fazer ? only thing that ever goes wrong is that the pipe-rack can vibrate free - not from the bike's vibes, it's the endless chelping on about MPG and tyre wear on conti tyres from owners that does it.......

I've always found Haynes fine. Only ever seen one Clymer so can't really compare.

Neither really help on the Pipe Rack problem .

Quite often, 1st posts attract some sensible replies. Congratulations on bucking the trend .

Clymer every time, but then again I don`t use either ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I use Yamahas genuine one.

I don't actually use manuals - you can get all the tech specs off the web, and the way I learned how bikes work over the years is by taking them apart and putting them back together again (quite often wrongly in the early days...)

But, welcome to the club/forum/board young dastardly.

Hey Reaper, you're not seriously trying to kid us that they had the web when you were young.

I agree though, the only way to learn is to do it.
