Hi all, i wonder if any of you lovely people would be kind enough to give me some advice please? i'm collecting my first bike this weekend, a '99 Divvy 600 after buying it on ebay. i didnt get a chance to go check it out in person (i know, i know tut away! ), but was happy to take a risk considering what i paid for it, and as its just going to be a first bike/winter hack. it's done 30k miles, and got mot til may 09. it was seized by the police 6 wks ago and was being sold on with the money going to the public purse (i wonder if that counts towards my tax bill....??) hence they have no service history for it. they say it was being used when it was seized and it runs well. tyres are nearly new by the way. bearing in mind the lack of service history, i want to give it a service when i get it (oil change & new filters), check headstock bearings for flat spots, check chain tension/wear & sprocket wear. as owners of this model what else would you recommend i replace/check/clean/tighten? i'm going to take it to visit a seasoned biker friend of mine so we can give it a once over but any input you can give me would be very much appreciated. many thanks carl

Why was it seized? if it was in use for normal use or taken because it was being used for illegal purposes then a good check as you have said and a full service so you know where you are starting from should be OK if it was seized because of no tax\insurance etc. then the idiot\to$$er who had it probably spent as much time looking after it as he did using compare.com so a bit more in depth checking might be in order.
