Hiya, been riding the divi (95) around for about 6 months, its done 23k and i have a sneaking suspition the cam tensioners have broken. It runs like a bag of nails but all cylinders are firing, i had a previous thread about a funny noise but it went away so i kept riding. This evening i went to start it after not riding for a week and its really lumpy under load, wont go much over 30mph, or at least i didnt try. Any advise on next course of action? Buy new lump? take it to garage?
thanks, chris.

Chris
Difficult to diagnose without seeing and hearing it. At 23K I wouldn't have expected anything to be worn to that extent though.
I might be able to pop over at the weekend to have a listen. Send me a p.m. with a phone no. if you'd like me to do that.

Thats very kind of you bob, i think i'll give a few local garages a call first. I'm pretty sure its the engine as i've had most of the bike in bits at some point and i know its not a fueling problem. I've spent the price i paid for the bike over at least twice on bits for it, thought it would be a solid bike by now! Really upset about it!

Well done, but sounds like a lucky escape. Moral - if it sounds rough dont ride it. If that cam chain had jumped more than one or two teeth the engine would be wrecked.
