I bought an Autocom / Tomtom Rider Bluetooth cable today.
I can now get the TomTom instructions, Music, Pillion and full moblie phone function coming out of the helmet speakers. I got my 1st phone call today while riding the bike - weird, but it seemed to work OK. The TomTom funnily enough will not let me make calls while I'm riding, just recieve them. Dam safety rules.
Anyway I've been doing a bit of research on the web re the TomTom Rider & Bluetooth & Autocom. One of the big drawbacks I see with the TomTom Rider is that the Bluetooth adapter cannot be powered from the bike and even if it could it automatically powers off when it is being charged. It seems like there is an Autocom Bluetooth adaptor that draws it's power from the Autocom box. If so and the adaptor is available from Autocom it's probably a better solution that the TomTom Rider Bluetooth adapter and the cable I bought today. I pulled this from the latest Autocom brochure on page 10 "1273 Bluetooth Adaptor Powered Bluetooth connection to a GPS or mobile phone. For use in Aux 1 with Easi-PLUS, Active-PLUS or Super Pro AVi. T.B.C" Does anyone have any details on the Autocom Bluetooth adapter

Steve, haven't any experience of the Autocom bluetooth adaptor you talk about. Went into this with Autocom and they reckoned not possible to have bike powered with the tom tom. If you want to make calls and access a few more features whilst your riding, cover the pin #2 (second from left as viewed from rear of unit) this disables the "safety" feature. Also, look to get a better cradle for the tom tom, hit a large pothole on the way to Max and Cheles today and the bloody tom tom flew out Quick reaction or what but I actually caught the bloody thing right handed in mid flight ( scared the cr*p out of swmbo on the back though) , so will be looking into securing better. Thanks Trev I'm not sure if the Autocom bluetooth adapter is actually out yet. I've emailed them asking for more info. You can't really charge the Rider bluetooth unit when on the move for the reasons stated earlier. Re the cradle. I bought the Rider from one of the club members. He already had bought a RAM mount. I'm going to put a cord on it also just for some extra piece of mind. Re the safety feature. Pardon me for being a bit thick but - which contact do I mask ?
