Just as a matter of interest. Now done about 1500mls since buying the 600s. Fitted a smaller rear sprocket after the first ride because I didnt like the gearing. I thought it was too high,so down 2 teeth on the back . I am getting approx 70mpg at 50-60mph . No idea what the std sprocket gives but im happy. Ok so I might be loosing a bit of performance but it,s only for commuting and no pillion. What MPG does the std sprocket give? Anyone! Thanks.

Ok, I've gone even more extremely: 38 th rear (-10 th). Cruisin' at 130 km/h (80 mph) gives 3.6 l/100 km (65 mpg), original setup returned 4.3-5.3 l/100 km (45-50 mpg) at 120 km/h. Speed diffrence is caused by "sweet spot" revs translation. These results are minimum consumption, 50% riding two-up.

On the 600N, which has even lower gearing than the 600S, I used to get 60-65 m.p.g. overall, dropping to 55 on the m-way with a headwind.
P.s. Kruzer - according to my calculator 3.6 l/100 km = 78 m.p.g. (imperial gallons, that is)

In UK mpg! I had a 45 rear, and was seeing 62-63 mpg over many thousands of miles. I noticed the sprockets were worn but the chain was fine (combination of scottoiler looking after the chain and suspicion the last chain was fitted on its own not as a kit). As the rear was a 45 alloy renthal, I went for an OE 48 steel. It makes the bike noticably perkier, but I haven't done any mpg measurements lately.
Frankly, it's a good bike on fuel, and changing the sprockets for a little more enjoyment - it's still not able to rev out 6th - doesn't bother me if it loses 2 or 3 mpg.
