Can I put in a good word for these please? www.ravencroft-services.co.uk/This is actually seems to be one person who works from home. Home is just across town from me. I thought her prices were a bit steep so I ignored her for a while until the untimely demise of the fly zip on my leathers. My research then led me to be believe that she might be competitive and noticing that her prices included return postage I made contact. Anyway, to cut what seems to be a long story short, I got the postage off for taking them and fetching them so her price was the same as the best price I had found. Took the beleaguered garment to her on Thursday teatime and got it back on Friday teatime. How's that for service? I am sure many of you know of cheaper places but I am well pleased. Ed

Fi - On the subject of leather repairs. A while back (last year possibly!) you gave me the address of an outfit in Poplar E14 who sorted some leathers for me.
I've lost the address and have need of their services again.
Can you oblige?

I suppose the point of this is that if anybody wanted to get work done and save the postage I could act as a sort of impromptu drop off and pick up point.

I got the lead from the dry cleaners I used to work next door to - Milligan Dry Cleaners, Milligan St, Westferry - Craig. www.dirty-laundry.co.uk/contact.htmNot even sure if they are still there. Good Luck Dave ;D

Some time back I posted the address of a bike leather repairer in Nottingham (IIRC Gedling). He used to work for Hein Gericke.

There's a woman on londonbikers who is quite competitive - she's quoted £30 for a full length zip around my leather troos, and 8 each for zips on the legs.I'll be dropping them off personally, so no postage (she's in Essex..)

For anyone near Swindon, Stallion Leathers (macho name, actually a lady who works from home) is useful for repairs. She does fabric kit as well as leathers and her work is good quality.
