How well do your 900's start guys?, do you generally need full choke when cold, mine used to start well but lately need to give it a bit of throttle as well as full choke when it's cold, when it's warm , quick press of the button and she's away. Not sure if it's worse since I put the full Motad system on. Cheers Pete

From cold mine always starts first time on full choke and no throttle. Just need to open the throttle when it fires. Doesn't need choke at all when warm. It generally starts first time.

Never had a problem starting mine, even after it's been sitting outside for months in the winter. Full choke and off she goes within a couple of seconds on the starter. Of course having said that, tomorrow morning I will not be able to get it started! . The 600 Divvy that I used to have was an altogether different story.... When it had been lying for any more than a few days, it would take forever to start, and the battery would usually give up before it would fire up. I think it was on this site that I read that the 600 and 900 have different fuel pumping systems which makes for the difference. Al.

I had problems starting my 600 any choke would flood it and a few too many pumps of the throttlle would flood it. It was Ok in spring summer but a real problem in winter. I then set the throttle position sensor and it started perfectly. I tried to adjusted the TPS so its slightly advanced, but who knows if it really made any difference. It also dramatically improved the fuel consumption so was probably miles out of adjustment when I got the bike.
The 900 starts fine, but needs some choke when cold.
