Hi all, First post but been reading a few weeks. New to the Divvy and have a 1992 model which is actually great however I have run into a problem which might be quickly answerable. Having bought my Divvy i am having the front fairing resprayed therefore currently my S model has a bare area around the instruments and headlamp. Last night having gone for a nice long ride, i restarted the bike and turned on my lights. For some reason i tested the main beam and it then proceed to shut down the lighting system. I now have no dipped beam, headlight beam when powering to on. However the indiciators are working fine. Aside of the fuse box, would there be anywhere else to check for "barrel fuses" or anything else to check. I cant be sure the bike hasnt had the wiring played around with by a previous owner. Also would a blown bulb cause this? I know these are simple things to check but thought i would ask whilst doing the checks anyway. Regards Tom

Just a thought, but do you know if the ignition barrel is ok? Might be barking up the wrong tree, but definitely on the TDM and (Deb's) FZ6, if you don't turn the key all the way, then you can have engine running and indicators, but no lights.... Edit: Just remembered, my brother has just had to fix his D9. A wire from the ignition barrel had been snagged by cable ties and blowing the fuse for the lights.

I will look, i know that i cant do a steering lock with this ignition barrel and therefore they might be an issue with it. I will look at seeing if i can turn it any further, however i did turn on the lights from the position the key was at, its just when i tested the main beam that i lost the lighting, and now it wont come back on. I am assuming the fuse is in the bix under the seat. Regards

It could possibly be the bulb. Depending on how it failed it could take out the fuse with it - this does happen from time to time with domestic light bulbs.

Ok so i changed the bulbs, checked the fuses and still nothing.
I have to say that the wiring looks decidedly dodgy and i lost the indicator on the right but then found a loose connection.
My best bet i think is to unravel the tape on all the connections and redo them.
My only concern is all the different wires.
