Hi,
I like my bike to be very visible so upgrading the headlight bulb seems like an obvious start. Any suggestions on the best bulb to go for? I know there's likely to be mixed opinions on this. I also know that I might be thinking about this too much!.....but I'd rather buy one over-priced bulb than try several!
Osram Night Breakers Philips X-treme Power Etc
Or, a bit blue like...Philips Blue Vision H7
And, why do they only sell these things in pairs?!

There's a topic about the Osram's on the TDM forums that me and my shadow frequent. They seem to have the opinion that they're worth it. I know the Philips have been mentioned as good too. By the way, you need H4 bulbs. With H7, it might be a loose fit and main beam won't work And, why do they only sell these things in pairs?! So you've got a spare

I forgot to mention the Philips MotoVision. Designed specifically for bikes. Anyone tried them?
And, they come in a pack of.....1!

Are these easy enough to fit? I feel that I could do with better headlight bulbs but dont have a clue about them

I've got a Philips Xenon bulb in, and it does make a noticeable difference, though it's still not ideal.
Halfords have them at about £15 each - I bought a pair when they had them on bogof.

Update........I went for the Philips Motovision in the end. I haven't been out in the dark yet but I could see some improvement in my garage. The orange effect they mention is definitely clear to see in the headlight & I reckon it would attract someone's attention more than a regular white light......and that's the main thing I'm after really.

I'm hoping to add some small gas discharge lamps inside the front fairng either side of the front forks (D900). The triangle of lamps would be distinctive to other traffic. The only snag is the spots don't dip so cant have better visibility AND be better seen.
