Hi all, Did anyone see the beebs life on mars programme that was on last night? Good entertainment that makes one think about the power of the human imagination. For me it explains a lot that hasn't been very clear in my life. Like why computers confuse me so much and why I feel so passionatly about history and the past. Perhaps its realy 1973 or more likley for me 1373 or even 1773. 2007 is just but a dream. Anyway its good to be on the new site for the first time so I will stick to 2007 for now. My Divvy has run outa MOT. Got a few things to do on her like replace fork seal and buy new tyres cos of a split. this job I will start tomorrow and hope to have my green Divvy back on the road in time for the IOW run. I hope you are all well and I realy missed you all and missed not being able to do Postcoombe this year. John

Can someone explain to me the ending?
AFAICT he never left his coma, however while remaining in the coma he imagined he went back to 2007 and then chose to go back to 1973 by jumping off the building?
I presume his 'wake up' wasn't real at all, otherwise how would jumping off the building work?

Thank goodness it wasn't only me who didn't understand the ending.
They just left everyone so confused so that hopefully they can come back with another series sometime in the future, or even the past!
If I am in a coma why do I have all these bills to pay!

i agree it was the best thing on tv in ages i am sure they could have carried it on for two more seasons, loved the music but it was the decade that fashion forgot but jap bikes made up for it i, remember going to a party all dressed up, stopped at the traffic lights and my flares caught on my down pipe and melted lol

I thought the series was brilliant and couldn't wait to how they ended it and thought it was very well done. My understanding of the end goes like this, all through the series he was worried that if he died he would be stuck in 1973. When he did get back to 2007 and decided he didn't like it, or was missing Annie to much, he committed suicide thus ensuring he returned to and stayed in 1973. The main point is it wasn't a definite finish. you could use your imagination and have your own version. That way it has created a talking point. The reason they aren't making anymore in that format is the actor who played Sam refused to.

Superb series, second one even better than the first.
I felt I needed counselling after the final episode of the first series, yesterdays was superb although I have given up trying to fathom what actually happened.
I loved the epsisode when he was speeding due to a medication overdose - felt like I was tripping watching it [1]
Great work from the Beeb !!
Dave ;D
[1] Obviously haven't a clue what tripping is like, but how I felt is how I imagine it to be !!

I thought that this was one of the best TV programs for a long while as well. It all seems so familar to me as I was 10 in 1963, them old Mk3 cortina's used to make me well travel sick in the back , the music is pretty good as well. . My green 900 Divvy past its MoT this week, after a somwhat embarrasing discussion with the MoT tester, over the state of the rear brake pads . Ride safe

Mk3 Cortina was my first car ;D ;D Took it places I now wouldnt go in a tractor and overtook in places i wouldnt now try on a bike (The invinceability of youth !!) Mine was the newer one though, square headlights but the suspension was still pants !! LST 544R where are you now ? (last I heard it was a henhouse on a croft in Lochaber ) Adbru p.s. loved the series, endless one-liners better than any sitcom

I had a Cortina MkII 1600E then moved to a 1600 MkIII and then a 2000E. Happy days £10 was half a tankful.
Makes you think- The 2000E was meant to be the dogs tentacles but had less power than a FZ6 and suspension developed by Birds custard!
