Best to get a new bleed nipple and check the thread with a known nut. They will extract with easy-outs but be V-E-R-Y careful and soak it in easing oil for as long as possible before trying to extract it. One dodge is to remove all seals and soak the caliper in diesel for a week. Heat from a blow lamp also helps though not at the same time as the diesel fuel. Drilling sounds good until you drill through the threads and mess up the taper seat at the bottom of the hole.

just keep soaking it with wd, and use an extraction tool, I had to drill so far down, so as not to touch the seat at the bottom, then used an extraction tool after a really good soaking

Before attempting to drill out, check this topic here diversionclub.proboards74.com/index.cgi?board=600&action=display&thread=2687I went though a similar pain and anguish just recently. I ended up going though three callipers and ended up with one beyond repair, one working and another ready to clean-up. I highly recommend checking with a mechanic to see if they can weld a nut onto the stump of the bleed nipple prior to attempting the 'easy outs' as once you start down that path; there really is no turning back. If the stump is below the line of the calliper (i.e. recessed) then they will be unable to weld onto the stump without damaging the calliper; so this may not be an option. If you make a mess using the 'easy out' option, there really is no turning back; it's replacement calliper time! My final solution may also be an option; which is to cap the bleed nipple and use a bleed banjo instead. I can point you to sites where you can get them; or alternatively I have a spare. I hope this helps Thanks David.

that was my next solution if the extraction failed, or the welder out for final attempt, I keep forgetting about the banjo bleeders
