have just noticed oil coming from breather hose from airbox. Stripped down airbox and there was residue oil in airbox. Anyone know wot the problem is? Breather hoses clogged with previous emulsified oil which I have now cleaned. (Bike was service around 4 weeks ago) Is it a major problem? Really need this fixed for the BWR run on Friday.

if its blocked or kinked it will create a bit of back pressure giving you residue oil in the air filter, which mixes with condensation giving you the goo, as long as its been cleaned out then I wouldnt worry about it, you have cleaned it and gave it a service, it should be ok,aslong as a new filter was also fitted then you know you have clean oil and new air filter

Re: Crankcase Breather Pipe Oil Leak 600 « Reply #5 on 9 Feb, 2008, 4:50pm » If I had the time I would do a search I am certainly not lazy. I happen to be doint the BWR this weekend and wot with dying hair pink, running up pink neck tubes, taking my mates wheel off because the tyre was slashed, getting t shirts printed and of course being a woman having to organise kids and pets while I'm away I just might be short of time to go searching for info. hence the desperate plea for advice at such short notice
