Got a prob with me 93 600. The bike wont stay level when on centre stand and also back wheel stays on the ground(when on centre stand) apart from being a pain in the tits when adjusting the chain its quite dodgy as the bike looks like it will fall over when on centre stand. so I thought bent stand,so got another, same prob ! Brakets bent on frame ? any other suggestions??
Other prob is when I fill bike up with fuel. I always fill a bike tank right upto the cap( but not right over) with this divi I have when I do so fuel comes out of the over flow pipe like a firemans hose. not too much of a prob if your going on a run but its a prob when filling bike up then parking. I goto work the other day and in the end had to drain off a litre before it would stop.Prob is worse cause I aint got no centre stand, when on side stand I loose loads of fuel !!! Help !!!

Why would you fill up then park? It's obvious isn't it, as it tips on the stand, the fuel is above the full line, so it spills out. Sounds like your bike might have a longer shock and raised the rear? As it is on my dead standard bike, the stand barely gets the rear up on level ground, where possible I use the camber of the street to my advatnage if I need the rear wheel up.

why would I fill up then park? easy fill up the night before either going out early or going to work and save having to stop for fuel !
the shock on my bike is standard so is the swinging arm. did you read what I wrote??
the bike wont stand up straight when on centre stand.
you dont seem to ever give any good words of advice. do me a favour and dont answer any of my posts unless you have somthing good to say.

hi nobby, can't help much with your stand. i have a d900 & the same as you discribed happened to my stand, found out that it had cracked but as you said you've tried another, the only thing i can think of is worn. as for the fuel problem, was it on a hot day & did you park your bike in the sun, if so its possible that the heat on the tank made the petrol expaned. hope this helps you.

Because wear and/or breakage of the centrestand is a known problem with both 600s and 900s, and also because I don't seem to be heavy enough to get enough effort on the foot pedal thing to lever the bike up, I use it as little as possible, i.e. only for maintenance (and even then, sometimes a paddock stand is a better, more secure, option).
One question - do you put the bike on the sidestand or the centrestand when filling it up? If you fill up with it on the sidestand, does petrol still p*ss out when you park it up afterwards? If so, it sounds like there might be internal damage or corrosion near the top of the overflow pipe inside the tank. A repair might be possible, but probably expensive so best to look for another tank on fleabay.
Hope this helps - Bob

I´m sure in my Yamaha handbook it says not to fill tank right to the top, to allow for expansion of fuel as it warms up,presumably from engine heat.I always leave a small space anyway to be on safe side.

The filler neck has a dip tube making it impossible or at least very hard to totally fill the tank. If the tube is drilled just below the filler cap gasket, the tank can fill further, but then fuel goes down the overflow/air vent.
As for the stand they are all weak and wimpy. I really like Divvies but have to say the centre stands are not up to the job.

In your first post you didn't mention anything about it being standard. That chap was trying to help not cause a flame war, your response was a little rude methinks.
