wrong! later models had choke on the handlebar but it's not automatic at all.

i thought the same. ive never seen one with an auto choke, surly theres some complicated mechanism other than the carbs to make it work???

It'd be a bimetallic strip to open the choke. You get it on cars sometimes.

auto choke on cars( now old hat because cars not have carbs these days) was controlled by water temp.the hoses from the heater matrix would branch off to the choke housing on the carb.
one prob with this on a divi........ no water !!!

Auto chokes were rubbish anyway. My twin choke carb Citroen BX would flood horribly if stopped after only a short run.
