hi all, i changed my spark plugs today and checked them against my chart and as far as i can tell they have oil deposits on them, it says oilo coating caused by poor oil control, oil is leaking past worn valve guides oe piston rings into the combustion chamber. causes hard starting, misfiring and hesitation. Now my bike has always been a hard starter but ive only had it since december, it dosent rev very high when i first start it with the choke on (below 1000rpm) and can take 5 to 10 mins to warm up enough with the choke off to set off, and its then a bit bogged down when setting off until the bike has been ridden for a few miles when the idle is around 1300 -1400 rpm. when its stood running even when warm the exhaust occasionally pops which i guess could be misfiring. Im just wondering if anyone has had this same problem and what the cost would be to have it fixed? edit: they look more like the sooted plug on thes site www.boschautoparts.co.uk/pcPlug10_8.htmlhow do you change air fuel mixture?

Try the cheapest option first. Change the air filter, might be making it run too rich, because it's clogged?
Looked at your link, perhaps it might be an idea to check that the correct grade of plugs are fitted?

Try here if you need fresh plugs: www.sparkplugs.co.uk/I got a set of NGK Iridiums for considerably less than I was seeing them elsewhere. T.

The tank is super simple, just two screws, one at the front, one at the back.
as long as the fuel tap is in the normal position, the fuel won't flow as it's held in by a vacuum valve. There are just two hoses to remove. It goes without saying to have a blanket ready; to put the tank onto.
I hope this helps

unless you have done a full throttle plug chop, then your plug colour is meaningless

i checked the air filter today, pretty clean, io ran the bike for a few mins and checked the plugs and they were a sooty black again, could it be the mixture? even though when warm the bike idles and runs fine.

unless you have done a full throttle plug chop, then your plug colour is meaningless Hear ! Hear! Trouble is, most people don't know how to do a plug chop these days. Was a weekly thing in the old days of DIY two stroke tuning
