Just noticed on my 4 day recently purchased 900, that the oil cooler is vibrating against the fairing. Worn into the fairing quite a bit! Not worried about the fairing , more about the oil cooler. Tugged the top of the offending side away from the dodgy area, but this only moves the top bit of the fairing! So, my assumption is that to be safe & protect the oil cooler, I should remove excess fairing plastic? Wadya think

So, my assumption is that to be safe & protect the oil cooler, I should remove excess fairing plastic? . Shouldn't be anywhere near it! I would have a look to make sure all the fairing retainers/frame are attached properly first. Sounds a bit like one of the bars might need straightening. good luck Trev

I have to agree with Trev That definitely needs looking asap. It shouldn't be anywhere near it. If the fairing frame is bent or warped it begs the question, what else is squint on the bike.

Sorted ;D
The gap between the fairing & tank is the same on both sides.
R/H indicator has a few scratches on it. I've just grabbed the metal frame mount behind the fairing, & pulled it back in line. Now clear of the fairing.
As a bonus, that was probably what the irritating buzzing was that appeared to come from the fairing ;D
