Hey everyone, had my d6 for about 2 months now put about 5000 miles on, great first bike. Just a quick question, my bike has a full nexus pipe on it, and you can barely hear it on tick over, just wondering if you could actually make it louder. Looking down the end can it looks like a straight through pipe. And don't say drill a hole in it Cheers Steve.

A quiet exhaust is good ,unless U R a teenager It means U can sneak past police patrols without them noticing U ,Start it up in the middle of the night or early morning without waking up the whole neighbourhood Can't think of any bad points

Try riding through a tunnel to hear what it sounds like when running properly,
My fazer sounds quiet when stood along side or when riding sounds good in a tunnel though not as good as my sisters 600 bandit with a Nexus exhaust.

It *is* a stright through pipe with loads of mechanical bafflin in the can, and also a baffle in the link pipe. You could cut the can off and batter the one out of the link pipe (I did on my gixxer when I put the race can on) but then you'd have to weld the can back on....

I understand the can can be chopped off, leaving you with a 60mm pipe, that you can put any universal 60mm clamp-on can over?
Dunno, my Remus is fine now I swapped the baffled can for a straight-thru one ;D
Sometimes it's fun to be able to hear your bike while you're going along. Eventually I'll change it back, but I'm enjoying the a-social bit just for the time being!

I know that the nexxus link pipe on a gixxer 750 ('89 vintage) is 65mm OD - the same as many micron race cans..... I can just about hear my bike when I'm pootling along , it's nice to hear the thing running

Interesting. I was considering gettting the link pipe cut off and getting one made up to suit my dads old zxr400 race can. Yes I am a teenager. Passed my test about 3 months ago 2 weeks after my 17th. Loving the step up from my little fs1e. It is a bit concerning especially on tickover that you cant even hear the exhaust unless i put my ear right to it. Can hear it up to about 40 then its just drowned out by wind noise. Cheers again Steve.
