My dad is currently doing DAS lessons. However he's having difficulty with the GS500's that they use because the riding position is too uncomfortable and it's leaving him in pain and he's having trouble getting his feet on the pegs quickly enough....
Anyway, he's been having a go on my CX and the riding position is far more comfortable and he's much happier with it.
So, had a look at insuring him on it. I've tried putting him on as a named rider on mine, but Carole Nash said that they can't do it because I have a multi bike policy.
So I've said we'll transfer ownership on it and he can insure it himself. He called Bennetts who he currently has insurance with on the SR, and they said they can't insure him because he hasn't passed his test!
Is it possible for him to get insurance or is that just Bennett's rules, that won't allow it without his license? I was under the impression that some people use their own bikes for DAS.
Obviously we understand the rules about not being able to go on the road without instructor and all that - and the driving school is next door to my parents anyway, so that's not a problem.
Can anyone advise?
Many thanks,
Paul
