Hi all.
I have spent most of day giggling like a school girl.
I had me cbt today, and what an absolute scream biking is, we had the first part around the carpark, running over cones an stuff. One lad dropped his bike an dented the tank. oops. The instuctor didnt find it very funny, and was even less impressed at his road skills. Anyway this afternoon was spent riding around the local area, went for a really good run, and do you know what i , can see now why people just bugger off on their bikes. i really enjoyed myself , cant wait to do me das at end of month. ive got theory test on tuesday. fingers crossed.
My divvys nearly down to bare metal, after all the polishing!!
how do i put a pic on here ?
ride safe

Yep... that's how I felt after doing my CBT 2.5 years ago. Never rode a bike before... and it's by far the best thing I've ever done. Love it, love it, love it!
All the best with theory and DAS!

This is why you should never be without a bike. And why so many people return to biking after a few years (15 in my case).
I was talking to a guy in the street yesterday. As long as I have lived here (which is the best part of 30 years) he has hobbled round with a stick and a built up shoe. He told me this is the result of a bike accident but that he would be on a bike tomorrow if he physically could.
It's in the blood. Enjoy it!

Agree with the above. Did my DAS in 2000 at the age of 34, never been on a bike before - had a ball ;D Didnt get my first Divvy till 2003 and now my mileage on the bike has doubled every year Now if this sodding frost would lift....... Good luck with the theory and the Das, get miles under your belt and assume that every ****** is out to get you and ride safe. Also come on some of the club runs Adbru

Harrier, biking puts the fun back in being on the road. And you get days like we had yesterday, (see Jock run pics). If you manage to get on some runs with the group you'll get a great welcome and all the advice you'll need, freely given. Good luck with your next stage.

I remember my CBT, mixed up the controls and ended up planting a CG125 in a tree at the edge of the training ground! Was the first and probably last time the instructor had seen somone do that! Enjoy it and Ride safe Andy

The stuff you have to do these days just to ride a bike..... My bike test consisted of.... Meet the examiner in a pub car park He explained what he wanted me to do, of i set and he starts running down the ginnels to watch you at certain points. You could fall off and still pass, so long as he did not see you Took all of about 20 mins to do the roads round the area, then a quick do you know these road signs and then well done you have passed Of course celebration was in order so it was straight into the pub for a pint of coke The only down side with this was it ment you could go straight from a 250 to a 1000 bike, which a few of my mates did.... Only a few never made it passed the 1st week.. Was the only up side of having a poorly paid job, i just could not afford a bigger bike.... So i'm still alive.

ahhh.... iooi.... Just like me, except the 250 learners were a thing of the past when I did mine. Had me licence 20 years now, and have never ever wanted any other transport, hence the lack of any other licences.
Bikes - best things in the world
