Guys & Gals. Apologies if this has alrady been discussed. I came across this little nugget last night whilst doing some reading up on my new mistress. The thing is that it does not apply to only FJRs
Please see below as copied from an FJR forum.
If your bike may be affected give your local dealer a call and they can check. They will need your frame number.
Be carefull though because if your bike is an import you might need to call Yamaha direct as your bike probably won't show up on the dealers check sheets, mine didn't but after a little investigation it turns out that it is subject to the recall after all. As soon as the V5 comes back from Swansea it goes in for a new TPS.
Yamaha has determined that the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) may not function properly due to internal fault within the switch. As a result of this, some owners may experience an intermittent unstable idle which may cause the engine to stall. REMEDY......Yamaha is replacing the TPS with one of a new type. The TPS is located at the front of the engine's Fuel Injection Throttle body assembly. The models affected are; FJR 1300 AND 1300A.........2002------2005 throughout various VIN # ranges.
Apparently the recall also will apply to; YZF-R1, FZ6-S,FZ6-N,TDM900,MT-01 AND XV1700PC
