Going to change the brake fluid. Do I also change the brake hoses for braided? If so, what is the real benefit in terms of braking performance?

You will enjoy extra firmness.... which is a good thing ;D Seriously, the braking force is increased cos the ptfe inner tube doesn't swell under the pressure , so all the hydraulic force is applied to the brakes, and any sponginess is virtually eliminated.

Any other views.............on the brake performance not the "firmness" Maybe firmness& Viagra (can it be mixed with the brake fluid?) can be debated on the "over 18" section? ;D

I upgraded my front hoses on the 900 to braided pipes and at the same time fitted HH sintered pads.
FRONT ONLY for the HH sintered pads. They can lock up the rear wheel too easily if you're not carefull.
HUGE difference
I could lock the front wheel up on a dry road at 50mph ( not that it's a nice thing to do)

More braking power for the same price as the original hoses

Job done. Since they were 4 years old decided to replace them. Got them (Hel, black) from Slaters Bikes £53 delivered. Five mins to bleed the rear and nearly an hour for the front.................... Definitely "firmer" Thanks Colin for the "P" clips to finish the job off properly.
