hi Twiggy, I use Champion F306 oil filter for my 600. and no to the car oil. Its something to do with the properties of the oil regarding friction on the clutch plate. The plate comes into contact with the oil being a wet clutch action. Although I must confess i have used it as a top up in emergencies and then done a complete change back at home. cheers PBD

If you can't find a F306 Champion filter, the F301 appears identical. In fact, that's what MPS sell you & the MPS sticker on the pack side says F301/306!
(The Hi-Flo equivelent is HF-303.)

i allways use car oil in all my bikes, thats the Diversion 6oo, Fazer 600 and Fazer 1000 and never had a problem, there was that much discussion a while ago, that i thought i would try the car oil, to see if i got any clutch slip or other problems and have used reasonable quality semi synth 10w40 ever since,
and i can confirm that there has been no clutch slip and yes the Fazer 1000 will do twice the legal in 4th gear ;D

I think its oil's like magnatec that may cause issue's with wet clutches.
