if it is a nexxus 4 into 1 I to have had this problem and the solution was fairly easy to find
I made a extra bracket to lower the silencer an extra 35-40mm, it will lower this amount and still work ok, dont know what u mean about the spindle, it was never a problem on mine, i never liked the
dunno about any other systems, but personally i would fit the system that jools has just had fitted to hers, which replicates the origonal 4 into 2, having said that the divvie i have has excellent exhorsts, so should be a long time before i go down that rout ;D

Jools. Where did you get your from then ? Looking at replacing mine. Seen some downpipes on ebay at £149, but then the end cans are £249.... To me might as well just get the Motad 4-1 as its cheaper. Also are the exhaust bolts at the front allen keys ?

The exhaust bolts on mine(1999) were allan keys but due to corrosion some of them were just round holes Cost £28 for a new set of 8 from Yam dealer

went to the local bike dealer and he got the exhaust from motad who do not keep them in stock so u wait 7 days for them to arrive £354 it does not take long to see that they the biggest pile of carp going one pipe does not even have a pinch bolt ,they blow like hell sounds good tho but not mot friendly, the center stand hits the bottom of the exhaust and two up u stand a good chance of hitting the can on the wheel spindle, there is so much oil on the inside and out that while u are burning it off someone calls the fire brigade other than that my 8 year old rhodesian ridgeback could have made better at night school

Mmm, Scrap that idea then...
Might just try new down pipes as its the collector bits that are the worst. I can live with scratched, dented and rattly cans for now.

OI!! You're all naughty!! LOL!! Right, I bought a 4-2 Jama downpipes and silencers from Exactrep for £468. They have a website, www.exactrep.co.uk. If you're looking at paying £350'ish for 4-1 motad you may as well stretch the extra £100 for the fab system I bought! ;D Fiasco - You're right I ain't a Lady, but I'm first to admit it ;D GM - Still younger than you! ;D Apricot - You'll see me pipework at Postcombe, its worth the wait! ;D
