How do you repair your scuffed leather gear and clean the lining? No, not me who scuffed it but I have the jacket to wear when I get it sorted

Dont know about the lining, but in my triumph cafe racer days(15 years ago but Im thinking about another one) I just used the back garden, a tin of boot polish and lots of elbow grease!

Mine used to be dragged across the floor too- but it was just because I was drunk. The laydeez would have to be more drunk(blind drunk!) to want to drag them off me!

To fill in the scuffed black bits use Punch Leather dye. I bought it from Timpsons (in Buxton actually). Then follow up with regular shoe polish because the dye leaves a sort of bloom on the leather.
For cleaning and shining I was sold "Leather Cleaner" made by Letap Suede Ltd. by the friendly neighbourhood leather dealer (Top Q, Huntbatch Street, Hanley) where I buy all my leather requirements. It goes on like shaving foam and cleans and polishes all in one. When my son inverted his mother's car into a field I cleaned all the mess (mud, McFlurry, chocolate ice cream etc.) off his good leather jacket using this and it did a great job - I was quoted £75 for a professional renovation!! Colour neutral, £2 a tin, bargain, and it goes a long way.

I picked up some good stuff (can't remember the name - sorry) at the NEC. Works for the leather and I use Fabreze on the linings. I suppose I should get them cleaned once in a while... RMJ

If it's the same stuff I got at the NEC it's a leather cleaner called Mr Jojo made by Urad. You can see their range on www.uradleathercare.co.uk. I've found this to work pretty well. Others have recommended equestrian tack shops as you might be able to buy bulk quantities at a better price. Paul
