job. You know, one that turns out to be a right pig.
I started to remove my givi rack so I could alter my rear indicator set up and wiring. Removed the givi plate, then moved on to the 4 allen head bolts under the seat that secure the two givi arms. I could not find my allen keys. Rummaged about for an hour then remembered the last time I had them I put them in my top box in case I wanted to adjust the scottoiler.
Loosened three of the four bolts, the fourth one just chewed up for fun. Tried several different sorts and sizes of screwdriver bits trying to get one wedged in the now circular hole in the top of the bolt. Bo****ks, need a drill, goes to shed and finally un-earths my portable 24volt do everything super sonic, top of the range drill and a suitable drill bit. Pulls the trigger and nowt. Where was the b***dy quick 1hr charger. It took me a b****y hour to find it. Got it on charge and thought I might as well keep on trying while I wait for the battery to charge up.
About an hour later with nearly all my tool box contents scattered over the drive I managed to get a flat edge screwdriver bit jammed in to the bolt and with the aid of a very large pair of mole grips loosened the last bolt. Not the best of days to be working outside due to causing very cold hands and feet.
Called it a day and will have to finish it off tomorrow. So all in all four hours out in the freezing cold to do what I thought would be a ten minute job.
Did you ever start a job and later thought why?
