Hi Guy,s I am sure this has been raised before but I cannot remember I have just renewed my bike ins with bennets was with ebike last year, Bennets third party? fire and theft £79.03. Legal cover another £ 25.00 £104.03 total , but for now have not taken the legal cover I have it on my car policy so does it cover you for the bike? or do you need legal cover for each vehicle? Oh ebike was £10 more by the way £114.00 including the legal cover. Paul.

Yes you need to take out legal cover on the bike insurance.
EBIKE £114 that probably included free breakdown cover and protected NCB as well Paul.
Mine did.

Personally never bother with the legal cover as i have it on the house insurance. The legal cover is provided by a 3rd party. If you have any doubts if they will cover the bike give them a call.
Also have both bike and car covered for breakdown via green flag for £109 a year.... Used to pay £130 for car alone via the insurance co.... That dam dog has a lot to answer for....

Hi Paul Get a quote from Ebike. You can then can get a free legal cover policy whether you take the insurance or not. (As a thank you for trying us, we are pleased to offer you Free Legal Expenses Cover for the next year. This cover typically costs 20-25 pounds if taken out through a broker.)
If you buy your policy from eBike, the legal protection is provided free of charge and will arrive with your policy documents.

Yes you need to take out legal cover on the bike insurance. No you don't! Legal cover only covers you in a case where you are likely to win, in which case you'll get costs anyway. It's the biggest con out. If you really want legal cover the best way is to go to rider support and get it free.

On the other hand my experience was positive when I was malkied from behind a couple of years ago. They did everything for me including telling the insurance company to poke off when they tried to claim I should not have had a hire bike if I was injured in the accident.
Although to be honest I don't purchase legal cover with my insurance it was OK for free.

I have to say that with recent good experience of rider support, I would never buy legal cover again. As a result of a recommendation from Alpenfiend on here, I joined a couple of years ago, and never thouight I'd need it. They were very professional, and got me a good result .And cost me not a penny. Heartily recommended

As ever on this site what wonderful advice glad I held back on the legal cover just going to join rider support. My policy last year was with ebike and included legal and breakdown in the UK only for only £ 131.73 This years quote from them was £112.35 but did not include breakdown cover that was extra at £39.90 SO TOTAL FOR THIS YEAR WITH EBIKE WOULD HAVE BEEN £152.25 and thats with a full extra years no claims so check your renewal,s this year very carefully insurance has gone up! ;D
