Yesterday, I started my (2002) 900 divvy from office. It started well with out any problem. With in a kilometer my divvy stoped on midle of the busy road. I tried to re-start it nothing has happened. I pulled the choke and tried to satrt again. It started for a while and stoped. After that it never started again. Battery is fine and self motor is fine and electic to spark plug is fine. Friend of mine told me that the fuel pump would have gone. Please advice me. Does the fuel pump fail suddenly? or is there any other problem ? Thanks Nelson

Could be the fuel pump, but check the fuel is getting that far first. it could be a blocked filter, then check the fuses before condeming an expensive part like a fuel pump.

Check also for water in the fuel If it was parked outside during a shower, water could be entered the fuelktank if there's a fault in the tankcap. Drain the carbs in a jug, leave it at rest for half an hour, and see if there's water in the fuel.
Divvys do'nt run on water ;D

Thanks Nelson If it's the same fuel tap as the 600 turn your tap to "prime". Prime effectively means 'On'. 'On' simply means 'On when there is some suction in the manifold'. Can you hear the fuel pump?

The pump was not working initially. I tapped the pump with a screw-driver gently . Now the pump is working. . I want to change the pump anyway. Thanks for the advice. Nelson
