I have heard that B'stone are ceasing production of the 020's. I was also informed that the planed replacement should offer an amazing 30% extra life.
Has anyone else heard of this?

I heard that too. Was thinking about trying the 021s on the Fazer, but then heard they were not being released until April and I could not wait that long.
Rumour has it that they are at some suppliers now.
I may give them a try when I'm next up for tyres, but by that time they should have had some press about them.

I'm up for new tyres right now so will see what M&P can do.

M&P not got any BT020s for the D9 rear wheel and 021s not yet in stock. So, ending up with Metzlers. Old tyres too worn to wait for anyting else.

Thanx Teejay. Last year when I got a pair of BT45s for the 600, they were cheaper at M&P than mototyres.
If I was back home I'd try elsewhere - and probably fit/balance them myself. But I'm at college and need tyres now. So its M&P and they are generally OK for prices and are just down the road a bit.

I think we've showed its best to always check prices. I've just got a pair of ContiForce for the D900 again £120 from M&P plus fitting. Last year's BT45s were not sold as a pair so not the max discount. then M&P were the best on price but I suppose it depends what deals they have got at the time.

Apparently the BT021s on the Divvy I bought have both got about 6500 miles on them, but here's the weird thing Rear has loads left and not too squared off, front is really squared off to the point I had to replace it today. I am wondering whether Clive used to do a special type of stoppy, but would be very surprised with those brakes Will see how this one fairs Dave

The BT021 on the front of mine has really started squaring off and it affects the ride. I am not impressed and I am not convinced that they have got the compound mix right.

Don't think I will have bridgestones anymore once mine are worn out, probably go back to Pirelli Diablos again. The 020's are really not suited to the Fazer although they are great on the Honda Blackbird. They seem to behave better on the heavyweights.

It's hard to find anything but criticism for the 021's, when looking for user reviews of them. If you really like Bridgestones, maybe best get some 020's before the stocks dwindle to nothing! (Price should improve too, as the remaining ones approach being 2 years old .)

I quite liked the 021s for grip, but the front does wear strangely and affects the handling quite badly. The 021s came top in a sports touring test in Bike mag recently....

Just put my front back on the bike this morning, quite interesting scrubbing in a new front in the rain with wet leaves all over the roads, but steering feels so much smoother now I have a round one on ! Dave I can very well believe that when i first bought my divvy the back tyre was shagged No good, but could not afford a new pair so rode around for the first 2 months with odd tyres 'twas like riding a different bike when i bought a matching front Flymo

.... could not afford a new pair so rode around for the first 2 months with odd tyres 'twas like riding a different bike when i bought a matching front Flymo I've been riding the Fazer with unmatched tyres since the Yorkshire Run. New tyres always feel great compared to ones on their last legs so don't put too much on them being mixed. I pussyfooted around some of the twisties on the OAP because the rear wasn't really right. For plodding about, my mixed pair were OK, but the Azzaro on the rear just wasn't offering the grip of the front Diablo, so in an emergency stop situation or on max fun factor rides the imbalance between them would probably show up quite a bit.

i have the 021's on my fazer, done around 5000 on them now, they have been fine, in dry and wet conditions, rear still looking good for wear to, so am quite happy with them. Not had any spins ups or lose of grip, (well except wet manhole cover!!)

Interesting point to be noted.
A Fazer thou will eat most tyres is around 4k if you use the power. The 021 is no different ! !
Have just almost finished off the 021's on the ZZR. I know im doing a LOT of motorway mileage but i have so far got 7500 out of the rear and isnt squared off too much ! ! The front is still ok'ish'. I do know that the ZZR doesnt have the power delivery of the Fazer and thats what i put a lot of the extra mileage down too.
Grip seems fine in the dry and ok so far in the wet.
1st bridstone time ive ever got on with really. Really hated the 016's....mainly due to the massive prices !
