Hi All,
On sunday I will be going for my annual walk around the BMF show, on the top of my shopping list is a new pair of boots as old ones are starting to give out.
Can anybody outhere recomend a reasoably priced pair to look out for that will offer good protection and keep my feet dry, also which ones should I avoid.
Andy.

Hi Andy
I always recommend Frank Thomas Aqua Boots, see: -

Fifty quid in the shops so if you get them cheaper at the show it's a bargain

Andy.
P.S. still open to recomendation from anyone else.

I would go for Alpinestar Tourer Boots because they're perfect. Why:
1) They are super well made.
2) They have Gore-Tex and don't leak.
3) They are comfortable to walk in.
4) They are simple black, with no bells or whistles, so you don't look like you're wearing space boots. I wear my with a suit all the time and only once has anyone ever noticed that I wear motorcycle boots all day at work.
5) They can be resoled easily by your cobbler.
I cannot recommend them highly enough--they are the very best bike boots I have ever owned.
As for Frank Thomas boots, I would stay away. I've had several pairs of them, and they either leak or make my feet sweat (or both!)...
Best,
Paul

Big Bike Book are doing Alpinestars GPS Gore-Tex at the moment for £69.99 - £60 off normal price. It looks like they'll even be knocking another 10% off that until the end of the month. I'm going to have a look around at the BMF, but if I can't find a better deal I'll probably order a pair of these.
www.bigbikebook.com go to clothing and search for boots.

Only got 38 to 41 EU (5-7 UK) sizes so must have small feet if u want to get a pair from here by the looks of it....
Good deal though if u can.

If they've only got sizes 5 - 7 I'll have to look harder at the BMF . Pity because they look like good boots.
As a complete aside my wife has just asked me if any self respecting bloke is going to admit to having little, size 5 feet!!

Hi Andy
This may be too late for you to read in time, but there are plenty of great values boots on sale at the BMF show. You can pick up a very decent pair for £30. Some are marked reject but I could see nowt wrong with them

If you did not manage to get a pair at the show I have just bought a pair of Akito Viper's. I got them from J&S Accessories and they had a wide range from £10 (dayglo race boots) right the way up.

Thanks Kintheuk,
I did manage to get a pair of boots...a pair of Akito Viper....belive it or not. they were the only ones that I could get to fit around my tree trunk like calves. I don't know if it I just me but are most boots only made to fit stick insects.

Know what you mean, a lot of boots don't go over a size 12......
