Has anyone got one of these Laser K2 4-2-1. I've just ordered my street leagal one for my 2002 600 Divy and was wondering if it's any good?
What's the sound like?
Was there a performance increase?
Easy to fit?
Does the center stand look odd after fitting?
Cheers
Paul

Hi Pamoores
I had a lazer K2 on my '92 600 divvy, it fitted fine, no alterations needed and cleared my non-fango luggage set with no problems (unlike the nexxus which it replaced which had been bent out of shape, lol), they sound so much better than the nexxus too
1: sounds gorgeous
2: possible performance increase compared to original exhause (can't be sure cause it replaced a nexxus, but the '97 on an origional exhaust feels flat in comparison)
3: as easy to fit as exhausts go, they all tend to be a bit fiddly
4: centre stand looks fine & is fully functional, can't remember whether I needed to fit something to stop it touching the exhaust when raised though ( I have had to on some bikes but can't remember on this one & no longer have it to go & check )
I'm looking at getting one for the '97 600 divvy that I now own ready for when the original gives up, where are you getting it from? & do they do mail order?

Can't comment on the LAser but I have a nexus.
It sounds bad, and the can rusts quickly.
It obstructs luggage (but there's a n easy fix.)
Rumours that it obstructs access to the sump plug are nonsense.
Performance is unchanged but economy improved slightly over the OE cans/downpipes...
I would suggest looking into alternatives to the Nexus before buying one.

Hi Doof, Steve.
Thats sounds like what I'm looking ofor thank goodness. I'm buying it from http:// www.merlinperformance.co.uk/ for about 511 ukp which I thought was quite good as your getting the down pipes too. It takes a while to get as you would expect as there are not many tuning parts for the divy 600, thye have to order it direct form laser.
Will let you know what it's like when I get its delivered in the week or so.
Paul.

Cheers Pamoores,
I had the road legal version, and have to say it looked good & lasted well.
I had to wait several weeks for it as I had to wait for the next manufacturing cycle & delivery from holland, it seems that such a wait is not unusual for some models, just keep in touch with your supplier & you'll be fine.
511 gb£ sounds a lot, I'm sure I paid just over £300, but then that was a few years ago now.
Thanks for the link, I'll look into gettin one when funds allow ( the supplier of the last one has stopped trading )

Ive just looked on M & P site (Distributors of Laser Products) They are doing a 4-2-1 for XJ600s £329.99

lan31110, try and buy it ;-) I went to M&P first and they said the Laser K2 was no longer in production the only laser product they will sell you is a R1150GS Laser Power Chip for laser system. All M&P could offer me on the phone was the 4-2-2 blueprint original or the remus pipes & can sold separate which came to about £600 notes.
I could of got a custom 4-4-4 for about 900 notes which was legal & very loud, but I’m not going to spend 40% of the cost of my 2003 divy for an exhaust.
So M&P are wrong as I have now just fitted one. took me 40 mins
So much nicer!!! easy to fit and a deeper sound, I chose the legal can but it's loud enough really for an every day bike, The police at the bridge & Caton will no longer hastle me, whooopeee!!!. The performance is good too. not to mention how much lighter the bike is, the bends are even easier. Much easier to thow it from left to right.
It can't beat my Old Carbon Can Co one on the RSV mille I had before the diversion, but you never can beat a v-twin for the pure noise, but if you get the gears wrong your screwed!! not to mention all over the road.

Not so sure about some of the info that M&P give out generally, I checked the Lazer website (who list M&P and Merlin as resellers for UK) and they still list the K2, Pro Stock and Jama originals as available for your bike.

That's the point M&P are not giving out the correct info as I bought one from Merlin.
