ok. so my life as a diversion owner has so far been less than easy, so much in fact that if one more person says 'wow, they are usually bullet proof' they are going to feel some spanner!
anyways, i'm chucking a new engine in and wondered if there is anything i should know/check/do at the same time and if anyone knows a decent place to get a rear engine mounting bolt from or if one from another bike fits, its amazing how many breakers seem to throw theses away.
i will be massively appreciative of any help!!
thanks. Joe.

Yamaha might not be too bad. Other than that all you can do is call lots of breakers. Sandy Bike Spares www.sandybikespares.co.uk are helpful. I got my D 9 stainless downpipes and collector box from them. Divvies are bullet proof, but not muppet proof. Sadly it seems at least one previous owner was less than fussy about servicing and trivialities like oil. A mate of mine went around quite a few bikes before he eventually settled on a Fazer Mk1. Most of the Divvies were good - one was 10 years old, perfect paint, genuine 1000 miles and brand new stainless zorst - £1000, but he doesn't like red bikes. Another, at £800 had a black frame, blue tank & plastics, pop rivetted VIN plate and the engine looked like it had gone 2x around the clock. We didnt even bother to start it up.

thanks chirodave! i managed to get a replacement bolt to use for the rear engine mounting a nice local company who wasn't even going to take any money for it and even brought it to my door! how cool is that? QA bolting systems in Rotherham 01709 524680.
new engine in! everything nearly coupled back up, so i fot the new oil filter and hmmmmm whats this? the collar around where the oil filter screws in is bigger than on my old 95 engine, probably to accommodate the place where the hoses for what I'm guessing is an oil cooler. So now i know not to trust Ken Urwin Motorcycles and to check things over before loading them into the car.
so i guess what i'm asking is do i need an oil cooler? is there any reason i cant just block up the holes?
looks like i'm on the bus to work for another week at least!
again any advice would be great. thanks. Joe
