bought a couple of 2 piece rain suits. for £12 can't go wrong. Also bought some waterproof trousers for the missus, and some crisps, and some DVD+RWs.
Nearly bought a petrol hedge cutter but that was just a bit extravagant

I too bought myself the two piece and I got the thermal shirt too. Looked at the gloves, but didn't think too much of them..........

In winter I use Aldi's most excellent ski gloves - very warn AND waterproof. OK, they wont have the ultimate protection of bike gloves but they are far warmer than anything else I've used - even the top rated twin finger type. I reckoned I was 10x more likely to have an accident with cold hands so went for insulation over ultimate protection.
In summer I use some Aldi bike gloves that I ripped the carppy *insulation* out of. They are comfy and not too hot and when they get too sweaty cheap enough to treat as disposables.
