Does anyone know whether a diversion 900 screen would fit to a 600? My brain tells me it's unlikely (what with few parts I've ever needed for bikes being suitable for other models), I'm after trying a cut down screen on my bike but don't want to butcher the current one only to find it's not what I'm after (Seen a 900 screen for a whopping 9.99 so assumed it'd be a good deal if it'd fit). Thanks in advance!

no, they dont fit, there were a few types of screen for the 600, so even 600 screens may not fit as well

pah, typical! thanks for the reply tho Seems more comfortable at speed without the screen - but looks like I've crashed it, so want to neaten it up a little.

If the wind is buffeting you, I say cut that screen down. (This is NOT general advice - parttroll is a tall chap!). Otherwise you'll have to go higher & higher to find one to take the wind over your head & you may never achieve the goal anyway. Else, duck down & thereby imitate her previous owner .

Aye, I thought a shorter screen would be better - have nightmares of a BMW C125-esque divvie 600 otherwise Ta for the feedback, some day soon when I'm feeling brave or foolhardy I shall investigate my tool options for chopping it down... Have dim recollections of cutting acrylic in good ol' DT in school and using masking tape over the area to be cut to aid in both drawing a line (I need a target to miss if nothing else ) & to help prevent it cracking, would I be right in thinking that's probably the best way to go about cutting the screen too?

Cut about three inches off a super flip screen on my Divvy 900 . Best way of cutting is with those really thin cutting discs on a grinder. Masking tape on both sides, line where you want to cut, took me about 10 minutes no problem. Same when drilling new holes, masking tape stops your drill bit wandering around. Go for it. trev

Had a day off work so decided to give it a whirl - was the usual mess of me trying to do something with little planning or preparation Ended up getting a dremel jobbie which seemed to do the trick & had some practice swings at it... in my living room on the carpet, couldn't find any safety specs so used an old helmet instead - did the trick Anyways, an attempt to cut a curve & 2 broken cutting discs later, this is the result: Not been out for a ride yet but doesn't look as messy as I thought it would do... Cheers again for all the advice!

When I had the 600, I tyried it without the screen. The wnd noise almost vanished but the airflow was concentrated directly at my head so anything more than 50mph was impossible. I made an adjustable spoiler for the screen top (MRA style). This ended up more or less flat but it does significantly reduce the wind noise. My brother now has the bike and is still not happy about the wind noise so is thinking about cutting down the screen. IMHO the standard screen is so noisy because it has that step which tries to throw the airflow high but instead creates annoying turbulence. My spoiler then smoothed things out again, so maybe something like Parttroll's short screen with a spoiler/aerofoil might give the best of both worlds. PS. I have an MRA on the Divvie 900. It does nothing to reduce turbulence or wind noise. I modified the spoiler supports to set it at more of an angle. Though I'm sure it there was no flip on the screen it would be more effective. They also make one for the 600 but try before you buy. i168.photobucket.com/albums/u187/Divi900/Variomods1.jpg
