I believe the sprocket has its own bearing, rear wheel has two bearings, but its all in the haynes (just ignore the tyre pressure stuff).
I use a Loctite anearobic gasket sealant. It sets when air excluded so is supposed to not clog oil galleries etc. Its not cheap (like £25 a tube) but should seal the rubber rocker cover gasket.

Have just got back from M.O.T ing the bike which it passed but with an advisory notice. Front wheel bearing slightly rough and rear wheel bearings have slight free play. Went onto wemoto for replacements and was going to buy them individually but noticed a rear wheel centre bearing...ehh? Two wheel bearings and one cush drive bearing. www.ashdownsailing.org.uk/MLH/xj600-1998.pdfPage 40. Item 2,3 & 11. I have also noticed a little weep from the rocker cover gasket. I would be very tempted to ignore. Failing that pinching the rocker cover bolts up a small fraction, and very carefully might help.
