Hi all
New to this message board, but have a prob so thought I'd come to the experts, that is to say Divvy riders.
My dipped beam has blown, got a new bulb but can't seem to get fairing off. All but one bolt appears to spin when trying to loosen them. Is there an easy waay to get them off? or can you change the bulb in an easier fashion.
If I have to resort to heavy method such as drilling off heads can I buy replacement bolts aand rubber fittings easily? I'm sure all motorists in Portsmouth fed up of my High beam but at least the buggers see me now
Cheers ken

Hi Ken
If it is a 600s Like mine then no need to remove the fairing.
1. Reach inside the fairing and disconnect wiring, and remove rubber boot from rear of light unit.
2.Unhook the retaining spring by a slight downwards motion, remove old bulb.
3. Put in new bulb and replace spring and boot ensuring the word TOP on the boot is at the top of the unit and reconnect wiring.
Hope this helps

I know this subject has come up many times but now I have first hand experience of changing the headlight bulb. Mine blew one morning on the way to work so it was a case of having to change it. Luckily I always carry a spare so I tackled it in my lunch break.
The knack I found was to withdraw the connector whilst I was stood at the side of the bike, with that removed I then got on my one knee and reached for the bulb from under the front of the fairing. Remove the rubber cover from the surround, and then find the spring clip and release by depressing in towards the lamp while lifting the clip upwards. the bulb removal was quite easy, it just fell into my hands. The fitting of a new bulb is a reversal of the removal.
In places I had to feel my way because it was impossible to see and fiddle at the same time. This is in the manual. On reflection I found it to be quite an easy proccess, but then I am 6'2 tall so the height advantage was useful.
Hope this helps those in despair
