I took a trip op the very narrow track up to Priest's Leap. From Coomhola Bridge, just north of Bantry to Bonane, which is about mid way between Glengarriff and Kenmare. once again crossing the Cork and Kerry mountains, and man WHAT A ROAD.....
At the top there is a cross and legend has it that a Roman Catholic priest pursued by priest hunters escaped by a miraculous leap of his horse from a mountain cliff in the townland of Cummeenshrule to Bantry in County Cork, (approximately 9 miles away).
Realistically, it was more likely to be some loon who thought if he jumped of the cliff, god would save him. But the reality was he just plummeted to his death.
Anyway, here's the video. Enjoy..........
