Yes, we've got one locally - Childrey to A417. A 2-mile stretch that was a NSL, now 40 with horse signs. OK, there is a stables at one end, but in all the 40+ years I've been using that road I've never actually seen a horse on it.
I can only assume that someone with good connections lives in one of the three houses along there.

The 2 roads in the post have always been NSL up until this year. Now I've been riding those roads since 1976 and never once come close to having an accident. I was told by someone who's high up in the council that the speed limits are being reduce to a speed they deem safe to drive whilst using a mobile phone, due to the fact they know they will never stop people driving whilst on the mobile devices, no matter what laws they bring out as everybody knows they don't have the manpower to enforce it.

I believe the justification from the ministry of no fun is roads at 40 mph can have a lower standard of maintenance and wear out at a slower rate. Have they stuck up cameras to enforce the limits yet?
The last time I was radar gunned, I could not see the policeman who did so because his car was parked in a private driveway, and he was hiding behind the gatepost. The 30 mph zone in that case for the village extended up a very steep hill with no pavements or street lights and just the 2 houses. I was just over the limit, but his actions were not legal, and at that time there were conditions on 30mph zones that made the limit not legal. The house it turned out belonged to a judge who had knocked a girl off her motorbike two years before. The joys of riding in Devon.
