There is no defined setting for fuel mixture screws.
The best way is to use a colourtune. But the way to do it without a colourtune is as follows.
Turn the mixture screws all the way in then back it out between 1 1/2 turns to 2 turns, that will get the engine to idle. From there set the idle speed with the throttle screw to desired idle rpms.
Now turn carb 1 mixture screw in slowly until you see/hear a fall in rpms, now screw the screw out until again you hear /see a fall in rpms.
Half of that number of turns and turn the screw back in by the resulting number for the desired air /fuel mixture setting. (Example. If that number of turns is 1 1/2 screw it back in 3/4 of a turn).
Adjust the idle with the throttle screw if it has altered.
Repeat the procedure again for the other 3 carbs.
Take it for a spin and check for a nice burn colour.
It's a pain in the backside and you may have to repeat the whole process to get the perfect settings.
Hope this helps.
