Hi all I have a 1997 xj600 diversion, when I bought it the previous owner said it had just had the carbs cleaned and set. I decided for my own piece of mind I'd put a new set of plugs in, when I took the plugs out 3 plugs where dark brown in colour where as No3 cylinder was still "white" , like new... also I have noticed that the exhaust coming from No3 cylinder is not getting hot, although the bike seams to run fine I would like to know if it is possible to richen the mixture on this one cylinder also has anyone got a decent picture of where the mixture screw is located. ( not used to these type of carbs)
Many thanks Norman from Somerset

If the downpipe from no3 isn't getting hot, then that cylinder isn't firing. May be an issue with the plug cap / coil, so swap the coils over to see if the problem moves to another cylinder.

If you haven't already, don't mess with the mixture screw on that carb. It's unlikely to be the problem & may only make things worse.
It's much more likely to be fuel starvation as a result of a blocked jet, even though the carbs are believed cleaned by the former owner or his/her mechanic.
