Just got onto my bike to start it, put the key in, fuel pump and tachometer whirred into life, lights turned on, horn functions, indicators and hazard lights function, but the actual ignition button simply does nothing. The starter motor simply does not turn on. I also noticed that the high beams no longer function either. Has anyone ever had this issue before? Have any ideas on how to repair it?

Do you mean that both dipped beam & high beam don’t work?
When you press the starter, do you hear a quiet “click”?
If so, it might just be a poor battery. A poor battery will power pretty much everything else as they don’t draw much current.

When it comes to electrical problems always start with the simple things first.
Check the battery terminals aren't loose, normally the earth terminal.
Most electrical problems are due to a bad earth.
