Young Andy visited Groovy Grove this weekend, for a snooker extravaganza with yours truly.
He’s just phoned to say that on his way back, somewhere on the A46, a car pulled out & caused him to crash. Maybe a dislocated shoulder, other cuts & bruises. Car didn’t stop to render assistance.
He ended the call as the ambulance arrived to look after him.
XJ6 did not come off particularly well either.
Get well soon buddy.

Hello hello hello.... Now then now then, who's been a silly boy? Thanks guys, I'm doing alright now they knocked me out and put my shoulder back in, Pain is much more manageable. Not really sure how fast I was going when I binned it , maybe 40 or 50 had slowed some before I locked the front... Ah should of paid extra and got an abs model any how bike went down on left hand side and appears to have remained on that side, I slid a while shredding my gear, but that's what it's for, I think I tossed or rolled once when leaving the tarmac and very quickly after that came to a stop, remained conscious thought out. Gear did its job and only broken skin I have is a couple if minor cuts on my right hand index, middle, and thumb. Anyhow looking forward to going home sometime, and having a little time off to recover. BTW who was running the book on what year Flymo would finally bin it ' Proper ' All the best Flymo.

Went back to the scene today looks like about 6 foot skid ( front wheel ) followed by some signs of metal impact on the road followed by wider ( what i presume to be plastic ) ground into the road surface intermintently continuing past were i came to a stop ( bike slid further than me ) i estimate i travelled 50 to 60 yards after departing company with said bike. Got some photo's of me bike click for bigger. pretty sure the gear change isn't supposed to be that shape Looks like i'll be needing a new one of those Knob too round sir? let the road oblige The plastics didn't fair too well however they seem to be made of a more pliable material so most of the fixing points are still intact Left mirror gone, left indicator got... no damage to the back of the bike... saved by... i also had me snooker cue strapped across the back ( just about as wide as the throw over paniers ) the case took a little grinding but the cue survived My clolthing stopped me from getting gravel rash, i may of got away with no cuts at all if i had got thicker gloves instead of lightweight summer gloves i also had over the top of the matching weise jacket a hi vis bomber jacket that got a little shredded too. xray ouchy. my arm is quite colourful Flymo

It seem to me, between you, your gear and your bike, you came out on top. And that's got to be a great result. Get well soon Andy.

I hear that Andy’s bike is back fit to ride with a shiny new MoT.
All it needs now is one careful owner 🤭.

I concur, seems like I joined the "sad act club" covering only 476 ridden miles between MOT's Still have somewhat limited movement in that shoulder but if all goes well should be back to 90% in no time. Bike however may have to suffer the indignity of scratched plastics a little longer till I find :- 1. cheap 2. not already scratched up bad 3. the right colour any how... when is this here ride out
