My 900S has a problem with the signal fuse blowing. The only common denominator that i can think of at this stage is that it only seems to happen when the fuel level is low, so I'm wondering if the sender unit could be causing it. I know the gauges are problematic on these bikes, and that this is usually because of the sender unit, so I'm leaning towards that as a possible cause of this fuse problem. I'm going to take the tank off this weekend and have a nose inside to see how things look as the bike was sitting for about 5 years before I bought it.

I played around with it at the weekend and saw that the fuel level sensor has a plug connector just underneath, so i disconnected that and the fuse is not blowing now. I filled up the tank and took it out for a run and so far it's ok. The fuel sensor could be a red herring of course, but I'm pretty confident it's not. Fingers crossed anyway!

The fuel gauge sensor and the fuel level light are on different circuits so you will still be able to work out when you have to get off and push!
The fuel gauge sensor is a well known weakness on the 900 but usually because of wear in the pivot causing false readings on the gauge. New ones are expensive and, if you can do without, unnecessary.
