2020 might not have been the best year for non-commute biking. But having just got my Guzzi MOT'd this week, I note that I only managed 53 miles between MOTs . When the lockdown ends, are we all going to have to re-learn how to go round corners ?

I feel for you guys in the UK. It's not been like this in Australia except for about three months at one stage in the state of Victoria. Australian states are huge. I don't use my bike for commutes but for touring. We usually travel anywhere up to a couple of thousand ks over a few days. Hopefully it will settle down a bit for you lot when the vaccine roll out takes effect. We have been very lucky in this country through our geographic position and also people being very vigilant overall in keeping to avoid transmission. In my particular case I live in the Australian Capital Territory and we have not had any community transmission for over 6 months. The only cases we have had are people returning from overseas, 95% of them diplomats and they have strict rules to adhere to when they arrive. All the best and stay safe.

Well as they are so keen to nick bikers and convertibles in Gloucester I have stuck to using the bikes for work and little else. I used to commute more miles in a month than I did in 2020 and not sure 21 will be much different.

Did more miles on the SS50 nipping up to my father's house in the same village (we're a support bubble) than on the Diversion this past year. Working from home mostly so don't even have the excuse of commuting to take it out!

Got the Tiger MOT'd today and I've done 1,757 miles from 7th March 2020 to 10th March 2021.
I did more than that touring Devon and Cornwall, whilst taking in the Darn Sarf Run in 2019.
Problem is now I've retired, I have all the time in the world to go touring but have to save the cash for that rainy day. Stuff it; you can't take it with you. So where shall I go when restrictions are lifted.
Reminds me; I must renew my Passport.

I have already done more miles on my Gilera Nexus 500, than over the last 2 years with my Ape Mille, which covered zero miles since its last MOT two years ago, and apart from taking the Maxi Scoot for an MOT and ride down the Bypass later. stuck behind an artic that is the sum total of my biking apart from a ride to Walton On The Naze via my Cagiva Raptor last year, which also benefitted from an extended MOT, that is now residing in Inverness/ I bought the EVO 500 engined also Piaggio X9 based Gilera last November, and it was the last 2 wheeler to be rammed into the Kangoo-roo van(as Martin succinctly put it when offloading the Cagiva for the fated Joch runfrom Kent/ It then (the van ) after an extended one failed its MOT and the garage wanted £500 to fix it, which on Top of Tax(same amount for Tax as then newly acquired Focus Estate) and insurance managaed to sell it for spares or repair.
As some of the strictions on insurance have been removed the 1000 slightly detuned sans Power Commander 3 taken off, when I transferred the Stolen Recovered Aprilia Atlantic 500 they then wouldn't at renewal re insure it-too many claims they said after long deliberation; last year no thanks to BWiser The later 500 is a bit more powerful than the armchair comfy Atlantic and with twist and go helps my badly arthritic knees should help in that respect but it too has been barely used, hopefully that will change when we eventually come out of lockdown.

The MT-09 passed its MoT today, with no advisories - though the tester did say the horn didn't sound the first time he pressed the button, possibly suffering a bit of dampness after standing in the shed for 3+ months. Seems I managed a reasonably healthy 1700 miles on it since the last test (compared to 2500 the previous year).

No miles on the Divvy in the last year as I could not ride it due to another dodgy hip. Managed 300 miles on my scooter I bought last March but I cycle around the local area since we have had lockdowns. I can actually get on the Divvy now but the carbs were overflowing so had to remove them then four of the b*****d float chamber screws decided to stick so had to blowtorch them free!!! Hopefully soon be out and about again and teste the UK bikers cafe list out. Good way to plan routes. Stay safe all

Took the FJR down to the petrol station for a fill up yesterday. Worked out that over the last year I have done a total of 1147 miles. Since 700 of those were done in one weekend last September, I guess it has been a low use year. Hopefully since I'm back at work next month then usage will increase dramatically!

I sold the Beemer a few years ago. The Kettle needs work (I dropped the petrol tank) and there's other stuff to do. Coov finances mean zero chance of getting it sorted any time soon.
