Dear All,
It has been a while since I have been on here, and I'll catch up on some back reading as soon as I can.
A few months back, I managed to drop the 1998 XJ600s and snapped off the right-hand mirror from the screw thread of the mount - fixing bracket from the front brake. I have found a second-hand bracket and now:
1. I have a spare front brake master cylinder that is free to a good home - please PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post.
2. Can't get the last bit of the threaded mount off the old mirror:
A. Are both mirrors good ol' fashion lefty lousy - righty tighty threads? Or, is it like cycle pedals - one left, one right to tighten?
B. Any tips for removal - GT85, a pipe wrench and lots of swearing is my anticipated approach
3. Both mirrors are showing the worst of 20+ years of use and UV damage - cracked plastic on the outboard end of the mirror - just under the glass. It will also save me on point 2B above
A. Any recommendations for replacements?
B. Thoughts on

Finally, on tech stuff, while firing up the ol' girl to keep the engine oiled and warming everything through, I noticed a drip from the fuel tap, and after a quick strip, I think it is a perished O ring. Recommendations for replacements, or even the O-ring spec for me to look for, will be very welcomed.
In other news, for those that remember me from the earlier 2000s. It was something like 2017 since I last posted. Since then my adventures have taken me to; Somaliland, two contracts in Nigeria, another in Mogadishu, and since January, I have been working on tasks in Ethiopia for a European Agency. I got home from Addis Ababa on the 12th of March for some routine/planned family time - focused around my youngest niece's 21st and have been happily trapped on this side of the global travel ban - working from home near Bury St Edmonds, enjoying the privilege of being with my girlfriend/partner and still having a paying job - at least for now. I've been starting work early each day, to finish early, to make the most of the brilliant weather we have had of late - working on garden projects. When the sun hides behind the clouds, I'll be working on some two-wheeled projects. I have an R plate Triumph Trophy that needs a lot of TLC as well as some serious fettling needed on the XJ600S. The above-mentioned is just the start.
Wishing the best to all, and a speedy (and safe) end to our stay at homes
Yours,
