Looks like you've copied HTML (otherwise known as Klingon) from Imgur. I think it needs to go into the URL field when you click on Create a link (the icon of the world with a document) but maybe a more experienced poster will hep out. If I were there I could show you!!

Im quite interested in that engine... is the camshaft driven by a vertical shaft and bevel gears at each end ?

Sorry Andy. I am a bit slow - as you well know. Yes you've got it. That shiny bit at the top is just a cover. It comes off with two small bolts to reveal the cambox cover. The bevel gear is only revealed when the cam cover is removed (for servicing shims).
I liked these bikes when they were released, but wondered who they were aimed at. In fact they didn't sell very well and ended up reducing price to try and get rid.
Its a great bike for pottering round the lanes on. I love riding it.
Kawasaki replaced the W650 with the W800 in 2007 (I think) and eventually that couldn't meet Euro doodaa emissions so the end came in 2016. But Kawasaki launched the W800 Cafe' last year. The engine looks similar to the old one, but they managed to make it Euro doodaa compliant, disc brake on the back, ABS of course, but power is the same - at 47HP. But Kawasaki want around £9000 for this new bike, so I can't see them selling many. Not sure what the price of the new Z900RS, but it looks like the dogs danglers. Point I'm making is - you can get a lot more bike for your money, whatever floats your boat. Sorry it took so long to reply to this.

The Z900RS isn't cheap but you can get them for about £9k . Brilliant bikes to ride, really comfy and enough go to make them fun. I may be slightly biased, min.

This is exactly my point. Perhaps a little review of your bike - maybe? Not sure you have seen my reply Andy, but this is the view once the cam cover is removed. I hope I have done the link thing correctly. Sorry for being a numpty. Pic 1pic 2pic 3
