What a fantastic weekend, thanks Neil for organising it and encouraging me to get off my arse and on my bike. 623 miles over two days (388 today), which is about the sum total of the past 2-3 years riding, and it showed! I could have probably chosen a more sedate, less technical run for my comeback 15 year old TDM didn't miss a beat, nor the Garmin Quest of similar age, which navigated me to several places over the weekend, and home again It was fantastic to catch up with the gang again for an excellent night out, and superb run today, many thanks Neil for organising. Schoolboy error number 1 - No waterproofs - Got away with that, just! Schoolboy error number 2 - No Hi Viz - Was awfully dark on the way home, all in black! Thanks again everyone, and I won't leave it so long next time! Dave

Home safe & well just after 19:30. Bum was numb before we left Beverley so glad to be home.
Many thanks to Neil for a thoroughly excellent days riding, my first time in that part of the world.
Met a couple of people for the first time, hope Tom enjoyed his first divi run.
Thanks to Fiasco for back marking, and to everyone one else for making a good day out a great day out.
Thanks also to Flymo for organising our run up, martin & Fiasco for your company on saturdays jaunt.
One thing i learned this weekend, sometimes the reviews on tinternet are true. Those for Minster Garth certainly are.
see you next time
Adrian

Arrived back about 8pm after a very leisurely ride home. Feeling rather knackered now, think i over did a bit, but have tomorrow off work to recover. Thanks all, that was a lovely run, particularly Neil for organising it! Great to see Dave, Dave and Jools.... its been a few years. Had to take the Hayabusa as the RT is rather poorly. Having not taken her on a long distance run for 3 years, she took a bit of getting used to. Definitely spinning the back up on the greasy and wet back roads more times than I care to remember Rather more power than Im used too in the wet, but soon came back to me. Certainly felt more conservative ... honest gov. I do miss the ridiculous excess of power I do think Tom enjoyed it, he seemed to be permanently stuck in my mirrors regardless of speed ... those Z's look so much fun

We've just got home after a leisurely ride south with plenty of stops. Massive thanks to Neil for organising, the route was fantastic with some truly breathtaking views. Great to see everyone after what has been too long - we'll need to make some more runs and plan another one down here next year.

As Dave said.
Slow but fun run home after a fantastic weekend with some awesome friends.
So good to see everyone, have missed you all greatly and really shouldn't have left it this long.
Neil...awesome run. Well organised, lovely roads and beautiful scenery.
Dave, thanks for back marking...or as I like to call it...taking everyone up the rear 😂😂
I think this weekend was a lovely tribute to Trev. Dave and I stopped at where we believed he'd been buried to salute the man who was always up for some fun while having a heart of gold. Quick brunch at the old garden centre then it was back on the road South.
I've finally done a good 1500 miles on my own bike since I bought it brand new in March 2018...other 400 miles were done by Dave 😂😂 I've also finally gelled with my handsome Zed so this weekend has definitely helped. I'm aching, but so happy to have made this fantastic weekend.
Thank you everyone for a toptastic time xx

I've stuck a few pics here; diversionclub.proboards.com/thread/24621/east-north-yorkshire-run-2019After a meet-up with Fiasco at the Super Suasage, we enjoyed an A & B roads run up to Andy's, where Ade had already been waiting for us for a little while! Thanks Andy for the run from there to Beverley, most enjoyable. Arrived in time for a quick spruce up & out for the evening's entertainment. Dave (Fiasco) seemed to enjoy the evening despite partaking of no alcohol. The other Dave (Gurninman) possibly compensated for that, but I was in no position to judge really. Sunday morning saw some great roads & we were lucky that only a few spots of rain in the afternoon arrived. Had a great time trying to keep up with the big boys (& generally failing). Really grateful to Neil for putting on the run. Thanks too to Fiasco for the room share (which I've just remembered I haven't paid for yet!), the company on the way, & the back-marking duties on Sunday. Nice to see Chris turn up, despite having not been so well. I'm sure the 'busa appreciated the day out .

First of all, many thanks to everyone for committing and doing the miles to turn up, especially having had a long break from this kinda stuff, or being unwell.
I felt honoured. So many recce miles are made worthwhile when so many turn up....Erm, mostly on sports bikes/nakeds. Then you think oh, bngger. Those roads are a bit rougher than last time we rode them....
Hopefully the corrugated and bumpy bits were balanced by the views and flowing stuff for everyone. Yep, there was some technical stuff too to add a bit of spice to the mix and fortunately the weather didn't spoil matters. Thanks for the positive feedback. Thinking next time, I'll arrange something new.....
For me though, the ride took second place to the riders. From meeting in the pub, the meal, beers afterwards and then the bits in between the riding, just being back together and having a damn good laugh in the company of trusted friends made my weekend. Those are the memories which will remain.
Along with thoughts of friends who would have been there, as Brian said, in a heartbeat.
Hope you've all recovered now, thanks again.
Neil.
PS. Thanks for adding the pics/video Martin.
