Hi Gav, Sorry to hear you can't make it :-( I did a recce for the Sunday run yesterday, I think I may have found my new favorite road ! I don't think I have ever been on it before, the scenery is stunning (if we get the weather....) I haven't had a chance to recce the Saturday route, I have driven it many time , although this was some time ago lol. It could be an interesting weekend ! I also have a request, which I hopefully won't need to take up. Ruth's dad is elderly and was admitted to hospital this week, he is responding well to treatment for a chest infection and I fully expect to be able to lead the weekend. However, in the unlikely event that he goes downhill, can a have a volunteer to stand in for me? I know its a big ask and I hope its not needed, but just in case..... I'll happily share routes/stops etc. Cheers

I might be travelling up on tuesday as i have some extra time off. found somewhere to stay in Crianlarich, which gives me time to do applecross on the wednesday, maybe stay near inverness wed night.
Andy, are you staying over in perth on the way back down ?

Debs & I are both recovering from our operations but are not fully bike fit. As we don't want to miss this we've decided to hedge our bets and head up with the bikes in the van and see how we get on. As we may have to break off I'll not volunteer to lead but if you send me the routes I'll load them into the Nat-Sav so we have an idea of where we are meant to be going. Stopping at Fort William for the Thursday night and straight back on the Monday. See you all there.

"Granpa doing much better 😊 " That's great news, Adrian "Better bring your wet weather gear as forecast is 'changeable' !" Just punch some holes in the soles of your boots, you'll be fine...The other Adrian (rustytool) is well on his way - I have to smile as he lives by the clock in his daily working life and there appears to be a stonking great clock outside his accommodation. He'll be too tired to notice, a bit cream-crackered. Am kidding, he'll be fine & lapping it up. Am a bit envious of you all. Wishing you all a fun safe trip up to the meet-up and onwards. Looking forward to updates as and when.

Slight changes to the plan. It's been apparent today that I'm not fit to ride so have ditched van idea and headed north in car. Hope Roger is looking down and seeing I'm following his example of if "in doubt bring the car" 😁 See you soon😎

Hope Roger is looking down and seeing I'm following his example of if "in doubt bring the car" 😁 Quick update : Ade has arrived but says wrap up warm, it's a bit nip (but then he is a softy southerner). He did put it a bit stronger. Where's the swearbox…….?

Good call to travel up a bit earlier.
Ade (rustytool) is at Hollys Hideaway & says there's a Tesco filling station at Dingwall with petrol at £1.24/litre whereas everywhere else seems to be £1.34/litre. It's the last town before Dornoch on the A9 but you'll all know that anyway.
